Apa Itu Meditasi Transcendental?
Meditasi Transcendental (TM) adalah sebuah teknik mental yang sangat efektif dalam melepaskan stres. TM bekerja dengan cara menenangkan dan menghaluskan pikiran, sampai titik yang terhalus, bahkan melewati (transcend) batas terhalus dari pikiran. Dengan pikiran yang menghalus tersebut, pikiran mengalami istirahat yang dalam, lebih dalam daripada tidur sekalipun. Adanya hubungan antara badan dan pikiran, maka saat pikiran mengalami relaksasi yang sangat dalam, tubuh juga mengalami hal yang serupa. 

Meditasi Transcendental sudah diteliti selama puluhan tahun. Lebih dari 600 penelitian telah dilakukan di lebih dari 16 lembaga penelitian dari 33 negara. Beberapa institusi yang meneliti manfaat Meditasi Transcendental termasuk Harvard University, Stanford University, MIT, Chicago University, Maharishi University of Management, dan masih banyak lagi.

Meditasi Transcendental pernah dipergunakan di daerah perang di negara-negara Timur Tengah. Hasilnya adalah ketika 1000 orang bermeditasi Transcendental ditempatkan di daerah perang, jumlah kematian, ledakan, dan korban berkurang drastis. Penelitian ini dilakukan di bawah koordinasi dari Dr John Hagelin, yang merupakan pimpinan Meditasi Transcendental di Amerika Serikat, yang juga seorang peneliti fisika kuantum, dan seorang guru besar dari film dokumenter The Secret.
